    Super Jet Spring rebuild

Or put drain plugs in and run no foam or closed cell foam that doesn't soak up water. Btw, My square that I have zero history info on weighed roughly 135 lbs and all the foam from the bond line down was soaked. Like very very wet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Making of the SNX Hull

When I sprayed gel coat I used a harbor freight gun that I threw away when I was done. My decent good gun for clear/ base and single stage is a finex. I've almost gotta believe whatever you spray, you'll be able to machine polish out to a perfect gloss. I used that same stuff you have pictured...

    Making of the SNX Hull

Is duratec like a gel coat? The only way I've seen guys spray gel coat the best you can, sprayed it out of a cup gun meant for gel. Like I said, I run more pressure to compensate. Also, my guns are always run at above max psi. Just do what you can to get the results your looking for and forget...

    Making of the SNX Hull

I've sprayed a lot of different paints. Single stage, base coat-clear coat, primers, sealers, laquers, gel coat... Etc. most all of those liquids were on the thicker side and the best way I could get a decent coat that lays down flat, glossy, and free of orange peel is to crank up the air...

    Question on Insurance

Well for one, I don't see how a 99 rn is only worth 1500, but if it is, and that's all they want to pay you, I'd get a big list from all the for sale ads with superjets comparable to yours so you at least have an argument stating what it takes to buy/replace what you have. If you didn't purchase...

    Question on Insurance

They should pay you what's it worth considering you have full coverage on it. One thing they might ask you is when it happened and why your reporting it a week later... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Boost Bottle for freestyle?

A boost bottle needs to be between the throttle plate and the reed cage. No where else. That's the way they work. That's how they are designed on two cylinder, two stroke, double carb, INDIVIDUAL Intake runners on sled engines. They work. It's a simple idea that's nothing more than a crossover...

    Boost Bottle for freestyle?

IMO, you will only see gains with boost bottle on dual carb applications with the crossover in the manifold blocked off. Reason being is because the crossover acts like a boost bottle without you guys even thinking about it. Block it off and run a separate bottle between carb and reed and you'll...

What's up with my piston? What's considered a normal/safe mark?

Coming from a snowmobile background and rebuilding multiple engines, I'd say your Pistons probably at one point expanded a little faster than te cylinders. More than likely it was one of the first start ups. See this all the time with sleds. That's why I always hear cycle them after rebuild a...

    bpipe spray vs stream?

I'd think spray will do a better job of cooling, but if that spray is atomized enough would the fuel charge that's sent back into the cylinder take water vapor on with it then? And if water is in the fuel charge, then that would drop the octane causing problems for people with high...

93 SN Superjet Body Makeover and Build

Id lay it all up at once, about same thickness as the piece your trying to match. Lay it on something flat and if possible lay something flat on top of it with weight on it. Just make sure to use plastic sheeting or something to you can get your piece off of whatever you laid it on once it's...

93 SN Superjet Body Makeover and Build

IMO, I wouldnt mix glass/resin with plastic. I would think the bond would be pretty bad. Instead, id layup your strips on a flat surface, cure them, then cut on a table saw to width you need and use that to glass back in. Basically you'd have your exact shape and dimensions as your plastic, but...

    Blaster B1 paint engine bay?

If I were to paint a bay, if only do it after sandblasting the whole inside first. IMO, that's the only way you will ensure that the entire surface is scored enough to accept paint/ primer. Then I'd be sure to use a highly gas/oil resistant paint. Possibly even a colored gel coat and just leave...
