their is know right way or wrong way on the routing just as long as their are no kinks ,as with your steering cable my guess would be it has stretched and most likely will break sooner rather than later

i use motorcyle oil maxima super m, golden spec,klots etc you will be fine ! save some money !

stay with the 205 i have tried a bunch and all others i used caused some cavitation or would not load the pump good enough on the krash!this did the best for my ski
