Donations, Advertisements and General Site Expense Info

Shameless indeed! Are you suggesting that a company is obligated to support this website? Are you suggesting that members here do not buy parts from those who don't "support" this website? Seems a bit like a shake down to me. Many of the best shops around are busy building motors and boats...

Has almost nothing to do w/the war. There are still ample supplies of carbon here in the US. Kevlar is even easier to get. There was a similar shortage several years ago. Industry is using the vast majority. Largely aerospace. I just ordered 200 lbs of carbon a month ago and received my...

Jetting Kits, what do you do?

H.S. jets come in 2.5 sizes also. I personally have never needed jets in 2.5 increments. Whole sizes are normally sufficient for me. Charles

Chin pad comparison FOR STOCK POLES!!!!!

If you read in Madmat's negative feedback thread, you'll see he was offered a full refund, but does not want to eat the return shipping. I imagine if he called and spoke with Mark, they'd cover the shipping as well. That sounds like satisfaction guaranteed or your money back to...

    Working w/JB Weld

You can clean with acetone. Won't hurt anything. JB Weld is perfectly fine for use in your motor. Most Devcon formulations and JB weld are epoxies. Lots of motor builders use it. Charles

    X2 + Sx-r = Sx-2r

One or the other has a thicker flange. Can't remember which is which. I believe the Kaw has less material taken off at the gasket surface.(thicker) Charles

    Hydro-Turf diamond or groove?

Diamond is far more forgiving to work with. The eye catches misalignment of groove far easier than with diamond. You can stretch diamond all over the place and it will still look clean and straight. Charles

Look closely at how they lay against the side of the hull. When I did mine, it was fairly obvious where they would need to go. After I got one where I wanted it, I measured and matched the other side. I don't have the boat anymore or I'd measure it for you. Here are a couple of pics of how I...

    Running Race Gas...problems

Race fuel is not necessarily slower burning. The octane rating denotes ONLY the fuel's resistance to detonation. Normally you will not need to tune much if any differently for leaded fuel. If you have the compression and/or timing to need race fuel your carbs will actually be a bit more...

    what reeds to get?

I really like my M-16's. They kick ass, but the reeds they come with suck! Not economically feasible to buy new since you might as well throw away the original reed petals. The replacements last forever. Charles

    Bypass Restrictor Recommendations

Are you saying your builder doesn't ask you what temps you ride in? If so, you should get another builder. For that matter, why not learn a bit and do it all? Port your own motor, mod your own carbs, cut back your own props. I know when I get recommendatins from Art he asks 1000 questions...
