That is only your opinion. In my opinion, it absolutely matters what someone recommends.(assuming they know what they're talking about) This business of designing your cooling system yourself is a load of crap for most of us. 99% of us here do not have the years it takes to understand all the...
You already have the routing that Art gave Brad. Your setup is almost identical to Brad's so run what he's running and stop talking about it already!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

There are skinned honeycombs now available for use w/infusion. You'd be dead on the money otherwise. Not positive, but I believe Sergio is using a 3 step process to avoid the cell filling you mention. Either way, a cored construction method is the way to go.

I don't know if it is made with a honeycomb core like Jeff's and Sergio's. Prepreg alone isn't anything special. The ability to use honeycomb is one of the key reasons to go prepreg.

I agree. My only hesitation to include Jeff in this is that there have been SERIOUS delivery issues. The lightest hull in the world doesn't count if you can't put your hands on it.

I believe you'll find XFT to be the current state of the art. Resin infused, 100% epoxy resin. Surf version is in the 60 lb range with the flatwater version coming in at around 50 lbs. All of his hulls are made using sandwich construction(with either divynicell or nomex honeycomb) which...
I don't believe I'd plan my project based on Paul saying that piece would be ready by X-mas. He's been saying it would be ready for a LONG time. I believe I read in a thread that the guy that made it said he wanted it back if Paul was never gonna get around to doing anything with...
That doesn't get you a hood either. Figure on close to $2000 by the time you get everything you need. You can buy a VERY nice roundnose hull for that. The only way the squarenose conversion makes any financial sense at all is if you do something similar to Geek and actually get a lightweight...
Kevlar on bottom and sides. CF on bulkhead to cover up the ugly stock foam fill holes and the glue spooge I left reinstalling all the bulkhead fittings after refoaming. CF only for looks on the bulkhead. My hull is NOT a lightweight.

Your price on actual West Systems will be better, but their price on an equivalent epoxy will be better. 2 1/2 gallon kit of 4:1 epoxy is 89.50. Tough to beat for that price. Works well also.

Matt's right. Your local yamaha dealer will have one for 4.00 give or take. You could run it with an incorrect key w/the possibility of your timing being off a few degrees. The key only indexes the flywheel. The taper is what holds it.
