    Is leaded gas okay?

If a motor octane much above 100 is required there isn't much of a choice about lead. None of the unleaded fuels are very far above 100 octane. Charles

    MSD TL Analog

A fairly safe place to start would be: 28 or 29 deg initial timing 5000 retard begin 5 deg per 1000 8000-8500 rev limit This should be fairly safe on pump gas w/most combinations. Good luck! Charles

    couple blaster ?'s...

While you may have an air leak, this doesn't sound like one to me. If you did, holding the throttle closed would NOT stop the high revs. It sounds more like a sticky cable or linkage, etc. Next time you crank your motor and it revs, blip the throttle a couple of times and see if it resumes...

    engine assembly question

Yes I have tried it and fuel, especially race fuel, will indeed wipe it right up. Put some on a piece of metal and let it dry(it doesn't dry). It will easily clean off w/fuel. I believe it's a good sealant for gaskets and I've used it successfully in that application. I'm not saying not to...

    engine assembly question

Threebond 1211 or yamabond 4 is still a MUCH better case sealant than Hylomar. Hylomar is totally non drying and non hardening. It will work fine as long as both surfaces are near perfect. If there are any irregularities you WILL have an air leak. The bonding and sealing characteristics of...

    Ski won't charge battery?

If you have a parasitic drain you will normally get a spark when you connect the battery cable to the battery. What are you using for a bilge switch? The bar mounted version is known to be a slow drain culprit. Charles

How can i get this bpipe set screw out?

Use a NEW bit and use LOW rpms. Lots of cutting fluid. The gold bits are TiN. Titanium Nitride coated. VERY good coating. Makes bits last 5-6 times longer than HSS. Charles

    Fuel delivery issues

In fairness to JSS those filters are not proprietary to him. Those filters as well as his primer bulb, water restrictors, and many other of "his" items are straight out of the Hot Products catalog. I'm running the same filter, but with a pink internal structure with fuel(VP MS-109) that is...

Did you mean to say AGM type batteries? If so, I agree. Bettery tender works well with gel, but NOT AGM. Charles

    I Need Help! Electrical Issues

I experienced the same thing and have switched to Jetworks batteries. They have a MUCH lower failure rate(and longer life per charge) than Odyddey. A KB-35 charged with a Battery Tender will last for years and years. Try one. Charles www.jetworks.net
