You know what they say, once black you never go back. LOL. It is a BUNCH more work to prep the top portion of the ski. I'll answer your question after I see the paint and graphicsAny regrets with your decision to go all black? Sounds like a lot of work.
Thanks man!Oceanside, pt loma ,and the bay. Just depends on if I am bringing out friends. Let me know if you ever are looking for people to ride with or need an extra set of hands on the build.
It worked!! I kept torching the outside aluminum shaft. I thought expanding the outside part was the thing to do. This time I took Bruceski's advice and I torched the bearing. Got it red hot. While it was on the vice cooling down it just fell out onto the floor. F yeah! Rick vs. bearing...I WIN! Second pic - look at bottom right corner of the photo - defeated bearingUse a mig welder and load up the race section of the bearing that's stuck in there. Once the weld cools and shrinks it should pop right out. The shrinking will make the outer diameter smaller.
Had to do the same to mine.
Better yet, video itYeah. Just gotta get it to break that rust bond.
Next time I have to do one I'll try to take a pic. The welder was a great trick. My buddy taught me. Literally took 45 seconds to get it out without hurting any of the important parts.
Thx. The process has been fun so far. My painter is lagging.Nice build so far. Im doing the same thing about to paint the hull next week. Do you know if a regular waveraider waterbox will work? Or do you need the raddudes box? Is the outlet the only different between these waterboxs?
Well, another throw away part I guessThey mount up differently, Rick, so no go.
