just to help clarify... this is incorrect moving the cylinder up or down won't change blowdown you would have to port either the exhaust height or the transfer height to change the the spread between the two ports in order to change blowdown

not a xs900r its a ss900 (stock stroke)

adding more port timing will depend on where you are now with timing durations imo 50cc can be made up with a really good setup on the 850 programmable ignition timing, highest compression ratio the setup will take, skatrak setback mag and correct prop setup, matched carb and exhaust...

adding the stroker crank will increase the porting even staying with stock gasket and cutting the domes usually adds about 3-4 degrees

adding a stroker crank might make the porting way to much for freeride/freestyle even with a stock base gasket

fairly straight forward setup with xs1000 what parts do you have and intended use

imo when raising the alum to match the sleeves the engine acts like blowdown is shortened this can make for a muddy and rich bottom end then you need to raise the export to lengthen the blowdown back again but you also will need to increase compression use better and more aggressive timing...

That piece is part of the rod thrust side washer crank rod bearing is coming apart...crank will need a full rebuild or replacement when you pull off the cylinders you will see it check to see if the ring is pinched you most likely trashed the piston too

DONT TWIST THEM they are partially splined pull straight out they are known to break off if you twist them

dont just turn them, they will break off clamp to the top return fitting in a vice mounted upside down use a plastic hammer and hit on the top of the inlet fitting while holding and pulling on the carb body and will pull out the first fitting now you can do the inlet fitting the same way use...

if your pump or driveline is not binding i dont think this is a hydro lock situation especially after cranking it many times with the plugs out 440/550 starters are always a problem, they go bad very easy due to them being a direct drive type i would start by using a new battery next i would get...
