Compression doesn't mean much.. only that the the rings/ head/ head gasket and bore is in decent condition. i've bought a 150/150 ski before only to find a rusted/broken crank, water ingestion in the engine, and bent piston wall. It's a guessing game, try to pay like everything is broken...

If both aren't working, then i wouldn't be so sure of the mechanics jetting. How can he be sure of it, if he only ran them out of water? Start by checking for the jet numbers on the carbs, as well as the pop off, it'll probably too high.

IF you have the claim "he rode the ski and it ran great." written on paper, then take him to court, deal with those costs, time and stress. If it isn't written then theres no point, even then, how can you prove that you didn't do that damage and he did? Or you could get started on the repairs...

They have deka 9l,15l, and 16l in the 80s with a core charge at advance auto. But the 14l is 104 no core charge. Still cheaper than anywhere else with the discount. For the ones in the 80s it is cheaper to use trt41 for two batteries in one purchase and turn in core batteries for a core...

My surface prep was pretty good. The paint doesn't chip up, rather it gets dirty and stains really easily.. The muddy water here along with spilled gas and exhaust leaks didn't help. Any no washing or scrubing could clean it up like the stock paint. This is just after spraying appliance epoxy.

Appliance epoxy never lasts more than a season for me. I always respray each winter. I would go with epoxy.
