Turf is better IMO you have no Grip on the vinyl. Shop around when it comes to turf, you can pickup irregular pieces on the Cheap some times.

Think its a Factory Dry pipe manifold that has that very thing done to it. At least the others Ive seen are that way. Question is was it done Correctly? Need to see it mounted to the cylinder, with all of the bolt holes lined up and look at which way the manifold turns to connect to the Pipe...

Should note that just about any Small pin Single carb 750 engine in that ski with the Stock SXR exhaust would produce around 55HP. Duel Keihin SP/BP carb motor will be around 64, and a Mikuni Duel carb motor around 74HP give or take..
