    aftermarket performance exhaust basics

Stripped threads in the manifold to headpipe flange. Also, look out for very early model b pipes. They used to have only 42mm i.d. at manifold/headpipe transition. This caused detonation... (FYI Group k can fix that for 90 bucks+shipping) The newer pipes have a 47mm i.d.

    aftermarket performance exhaust basics

B pipe has a more immediate hit, adds about 300 rpm to a stock motor. This is probably what you're gonna want to have and it's easiest to aquire the parts. Dry pipes from the 2002 era tend to have a more linear torque curve and pull more at the top end of the power band. Water Injection can...

    R and D cast 8mm stroker

This one's unlike the other r&d cylinders I have seen, has no material for powervalves. Resembles a stock cylinder on the exhaust side

    Carbon hood restoration

Was asked to turn the holes on each side of the hood into scoops, so I came up with this design. Gives it a sinister look and a lifting point for the hood. Still a lot of pin holes to deal with but that was to be expected. 3 coats of slicksand helped but had no chance at filling all of them.

    Lowered hood air flow

This is mainly for race/wake chasing riders with superjets or sxr800...Does anyone with a/m lowered hoods add 1"+ holes at the front of the hood to increase airflow? similar to the stock sj hood which has 3 holes on the right side. Is this worth it for feeding the carbs more air and keeping...

    Modding 08+ waterbox.

I got a tach and I know someone with a relatively stock superjet with the jm waterbox. Gonna see if I can convince him to do a tach run for us

Dasa Intake Manifold Difficult to Remove Carbs

Thanks I might try that, im sure having a/m fuel pick up helps, the stock tank return fitting is kinda weak and it also sucks to remove the lines from the typical plastic y-return fitting.

Carburetor (specs) Database: SuperJet and Blaster 1

This thread rules. I run a very similar set up and my max rpm is nearly the same. Running slightly lower compression for pump gas though.

Dasa Intake Manifold Difficult to Remove Carbs

You can have the carbs off in no time with the long reach ball tipped Allen sockets. Had em off 4 times in one day a week ago. The fuel lines are what kinda sucks about that whole process.

    Annular discharge

This was awhile back, and by no means am I trying to dig up controversy, but I was very surprised when a prominent person(s) in the community tried vehemently to tell me that a lot of the info in that article was b.s.

    Carbon hood restoration

Quick update, still working on this and the bodywork is going to be nearly done today. I knocked out about 50% of the pinholes a few weeks back using lightweight glaze. Small amount of epoxy work around the hood latch area and then it will be ready for primer. Using slicksand polyester...
