Get sbt to send you a quote on their practice with engines and serial #'s, etc. It should go a long way that a major refurbisher and parts manufacturer can validate that if the motor is replaced you would not have that sticker or it will no longer match the original.

Not sure where you ride but I've seen people get f'd with having them on the rear of the ski like that. Between being low in the water and splashing visibility almost non-existent when underway.

This ^. I used appoxy on my SJ and dragging off the beach is way tougher than gel coat skis. My SJ took help while my heavier Blaster slide like it was on slides. Otherwise stuff is great, easy to touch up, cheap and durable. Just prep well and lay coats as the can instructs and all should be well.

Was the ski even in your name or still the previous owners? Not familiar with CA so pink slip means nothing, usually boats get a reg card that proves ownership. Either way obey the law and no problems would have come.

Sponsons should make the ski seem like its on rails even on the highest setting. IMO they are not for the weekend warrior types that would rather do 180 after 180.

Can't seem to find much on these. What's the general consensus on quality? Have a mint cylinder on original bore laying around that needs new sleeves and contemplating going this route. Are they on par with the WSM's or even LA Sleeve? Don't want to waste time and money if I don't have to...

I don't do this work for a living but around here they'll only ID gas, electric, and water service lines. Additions from the meter or panel for the likes of garages, etc are on you. Them saying they'll fix it is probably them contacting the providers and they'll have their guy out to lay new...
