I'm glad you said that......I was thinking the same thing. I would think one "guy" at the shop and the truck driver could do it without too much trouble.:ugh2:
I'm a big fan of BlackJack's, but I'd tend to agree. A slightly bigger carb might make a small difference, but if that's all you change I think you might be disappointed. More of a piece of the complete package than a big upgrade by itself.
Group-Kmart doesn't believe in strokers, TL ignitions, O-ring heads, BlackJack carbs, etc. either.........basically lots of stuff that REALLY works well.:Flush:
Unless you're buying new, the best mag is the cheapest one you can get your hands on. If you're a surf guru, surf specialist extraordinaire then MAYBE the mag hooks up too well. Otherwise, who EVER complained that their boat hooked up TOO well? If you think they hook up too well...
I don't believe you'll notice a difference. Run the OE coil. When you mount it to your plate make sure to use a couple of spacers/standoffs between the mounting tabs and plate or you'll break them off when you tighten it down. It'll run fine and as a rule the MSD coils are NOT repairable.
I agree. It's already an option and lots of people add location voluntarily. I think adding location is nice if you want to do it, but requiring it to be visible goes too far. IMO.
Just for grins, see if your hood liner is seperating. We recently found that on one of our boats that was doing the same thing. Fixing the liner fixed the issue.
That was the nail in the coffin on Odyssey batteries for me. They brag about the two year warranty and then wouldn't honor it after six months.:lightning:
Baxter told me 200ish on the 800 and a bit less on the 1000. It's just a well built package and doesn't need a super high comp ratio to run well. None of our boats run much over 200 either. If everything else is done right really high comp. isn't required. Super high numbers(ratio or psi)...
