With a stock ski you should be fine. I had some friends try to make it to catalina from long beach harbor. Its 26 miles. A couple of them made it and a couple came real close.

well, You left out the "IMO" from my quote. Also I have never broken a blowsion carbon chinpad and I think there are very few people in this world that abuse their ski more then myself, IMO.

Swanny is of course speaking of Blowsion. They also make the most durable cleanest looking chinpad, imo, and you get to pick your colors!!!

the biggest mod to get my 08 to slide easier was switching back to a pre 08 handlepole and steering cable. the stock 08 cable has almost half the throw as the older one. It took me a long time to get my 08 to slash well in the surf, but now i couldnt go back. dont even think about cutting those...

don't do that. Ride surf stance!!! I'm regular footed and roll to the left also. It is a little trickier for us. I've tried to make it look like a backflip or a tantrum on a wakeboard but it's just not that easy. They still look kinda cool.
