    improve on dual cooling

I understood what you were saying, but if you think it through a bit further you'll see that the "leave it in the motor longer for greater cooling" idea looks ok superficially, but has no merit.:bigok:

Dave Ramsey, debt, credit cards, retirement, etc

I'm just the opposite. His show started playing on the radio here several years ago and I enjoyed it for a while. IMO he used to be much more compassionate and seemed to actually listen to callers. Now, more times than not he is spitting out quick answers before he finishes hearing what the...

    Red Top Carbs (seeking info)

If they work similar to Blackjacks(which they should) they should do very well. Very easy to tune and even if you don't race they'll work well for rec/freestyle also. Art at Jetworks should be able to get you in the ballpark for use w/an SX-R.

    improve on dual cooling

If the goal is to heat the water, the approach will be different than if the goal is to cool the motor. Keeping water in the motor longer will be a more efficient way to heat the water. If the goal is to cool the motor,(which it is) moving a fresh supply of cold water through the motor is more...

    improve on dual cooling

Save yourself the trouble of looking up the formulas. If the goal was heating the water, slowing the flow would be the way to go. Since we're attempting to cool the motor, a constant fresh supply of cold water(faster flow) will always be vastly superior. In the real jetski cooling world, there...

Lake Martin freeride in 08 ?

I agree that alcohol is not the only reason, but it is a part of it. The thing with chasing boats is a very real issue. Either way, we have been UNinvited back to Lanier as a group. Not sure what will make it any different at Lake Martin. If Gil has actual support at Smith, why not do it...

Lake Martin freeride in 08 ?

If it is held at Martin everyone needs to know ahead of time that the area is dry and drinking could easily ruin it for everyone else. My family has a house on Lake Martin and we don't currently have any problems with the water patrol. Any bad behavior could cause our lake to become like Lanier...

    improve on dual cooling

This is all very interesting, but unlike automobiles, we have a constant source of (relatively) cold water. If the warmer water of summer is putting you over the edge for deto, you need to adjust some of the parameters on your motor or use more appropriate fuel. Considering these are freestyle...

    Red Top Carbs (seeking info)

They are similar to Blackjacks in that they're annular discharge carbs. They're actually good for any application and are very friendly for tuning. They work especially well in freestyle applications since they run high popoff pressures and hit very hard. Carbs that run low pop tend to be...

Bad news if you were planning on buying a new b-pipe for your blaster this season...

The price of a new B pipe has really NOT increased as much as it might seem. They were over $500 in the mid nineties. How much did gasoline cost then? In today's dollar's they're probably a bit on the cheap side. Used prices are just high because of the small supply and high demand.

Which to build 760 or 61x cyl.

Mght as well just transfer the TL too. All you'd be swapping would be the trigger plate and flywheel. Set the timing and go. Take less time than moving all of the TL stuff out of the boat and installing an OE elec box. Make the boat run better too.

Which to build 760 or 61x cyl.

I just mean that a well setup ported 760 can run as good or better than just an average "freestyle" ported 61x. That's all. Nothing secret. Just really dialed in with a good prop/nozzle/pipe/compression/porting/ignition package. I think the complete package is really what makes all the difference.

Which to build 760 or 61x cyl.

A well done 760 cylinder will spank on an average 61x, but all things equal the 61x would be a better starting place for what you do. A LOT more money to make it the same displacement, though. You really should get a girdled head if you're gonna spend the money to port(on either cylinder)...
