Give me my reliable 701 with a b pipe in the right a/m hull any day. Hell, I'm pretty darn happy with it in my stockish hull.
Surf point of view of course. I realize flatwater is a different story.
Easiest solution for us LRN guys would be an adaptor that would allow the use of the 96-07 cables. Could sell the adaptor by itself and/or a package with cable. I know how to make it work but don't know any machinists that could make it out of billet or aluminum.
Shmity's adaptor is close but...
The turn plates are the same throughout the years. You could ask shmity if he could sell you just the adapter and modify it yourself to work with an OEM cable. Its not an easy process though. You have to be very good with measurements and be exact where you drill holes and remove material...

part out = potential for more income from the individual parts but you have the headache of tearing everything down and shipping. Also have parts strewn all over the place until everything is sold.
Good luck though, they...
Or buy a stock or aftermarket 96-07 RN pole and cable. Looking back, that's the way I would have gone from the start. Im running a heavily modified version of shmity1's setup. Basically just modified his bracket to work with an OEM 96-07 cable so I wouldn't have to rely on his cables in case...
