msd total loss VS advent cdi

Th Vilder, Advent and Wax ignitions are all pretty much the same CDI's, so if you can't find a Vilder, there's 2 other options there.

What will these do for me??

Just for your info. I run Novi Maxflow 46's for freeride, and 48's for racing. If you can afford it, they are the way to go. The difference between normal 46's and Novi's is HUGE. I didn't think it would make that much difference, but the throttle response is so much better it's not funny...

    Do Scuppers Sink Skis?

No, you are getting confused with people sporting moustache's. They are responsible for everything....don't blame the scupper.

Replacing front crank bearing? - Be careful...

I actually thought my crank guy was a lot better than this and I've never used anything WSM for that reason. He sold me the Hot Rods crank, so I figured he would use a Hot Rods bearing as well. Not the case, and I'm none too happy considering the WSM bearing cost more than the Wiseco bearing I...

Replacing front crank bearing? - Be careful...

Yep, WSM is crap. That's exactly the point, when you locate it the bearing in the locator hole, the oil gallery is on the wrong side of the locator hole. A manufacturing defect I think.

Replacing front crank bearing? - Be careful...

Myself and a few of the crew have just been through a little bit of hassle while replacing our front crank bearings. The jist of it is that mine was water damaged/seized, and therefore had to be replaced. No worries, all done. Put the engine back together and ran fine. After a few...

    Crankcase dowel pins

It would have pushed into the cases if the bearing wasn't aligned properly. You can't get them out manually (without making a mess) but a machine shop with an electrode thingamy (technical term) can set it up and zap it out for you. It takes about 10 minutes. Once it's out, you can use the...

Optimum Air/Fuel ratio for ski engines?

Ok, cool. Thanks. Yeah, I'll be using another oneto get this one set up correctly so it is accurate, but I thought maybe ski engines may like a different AFR for whatever reason. I should have this finished off within the next couple of days. It should be handy for tuning the top end...

Optimum Air/Fuel ratio for ski engines?

I'm in the process of making up a set of tuning lights that tells me if my ski is running rich or lean. The conditions where I live change so much, it's sometimes hard to tell whats going on just by riding the ski. Basically, it will be like a set of tuning lights that you use in...

    I'm about to cry!

It shouldn't matter that the water is salty. Water is water, and it looks like i'ts found it's way into the engine somehow. If I find any sort of water in my engine, especially if it's been sitting for a day or 2, I strip the engine, and check the bearings. If they get a little rusty...

    Good source for silicone couplers?

I'm not sure if you guys have access to Samco silicon hose over there, but if so, I suggest you get it. It's heaps thicker than the crappy FP stuff, and is still quite easy to get arounf the manifold/pipe when brand new. I have used this stuff on the last 3 pipes I've had, and have never...

    Cheapest, new, freestyle impeller

Just a little info for you. I have recently tried a Concord 13/16 and a 13/16 cutback back to back. On flatwater, there is no difference at all, unless you are carving your ski to the point of the pump letting go. With the 3mm cutback, you can really crank a hard turn (tubbies help a lot...

    Motor Alignment For RN

When I align the pump etc, I start by removing the pump and intermediate housing. Obviously at this time, the engine is already unbolted and moved forward. Insert the pump into the back of the ski and bolt it up making sure the alignment pins sit in thier little holes on the hull. Bolt it...

    Digital CDI failures

G'day Dawson, Yep, I run hurricane ignition leads, resistor caps and plugs. I also use iridium plugs as well (only recently) If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears! Leigh

    Digital CDI failures

Guys, A quick question for anyone that cares to comment. My 98 Superjet seems to have always had problems with digital CDI's. The stock one has always worked flawlessly from day one. To date, I would have been through at least 10 different digital CDI's, with all bar one failing on me...

    d-cut ride plate

I find a D-cut stock plate works wonders. Combine that with some tubbies, and you have a boat that handles nice, and can easily flick/slide the tail when needed. I also find that things like nose stabs require very little effort and the tail pops from the wave really nice. Carving up a...
