Stick with the SJ, and just hone your riding skills. Sure, there are a few custom (and more expensive) options out there. No need to spend your summer building a custom ski, when you can dial in the SJ and enjoy riding.

That is a copy of the stock plate. It looks like the Odyssey Racing plate I have on my HX, but honestly it could have been made by anyone. They handle fine, and shed a little weight.
It depends on what your idea of "freestyle" is. Play, jump, nosestab, sub = Yes, it can do those. Barrel roll, backflip, superflip = forget it. It's heavy, and not suited for those things.
