purpose of jet in return line

Mikuni SBN's have a built in return restriction. On some aftermarket carbs the internal return is drilled. This allows the use of variable return restrictors in order to achieve desired fuel pressure. It's just one more tuneable circuit.

    carbs

MSD total loss gives you multiple hot sparks and makes big carbs more forgiving. Charging ignitions and lower(pump gas) compression makes tuning really big carbs less forgiving. Big carbs can be finicky if you're on the border of rich or lean. All the brands you mention are decent carbs...

    carbs

If you go with BlackJacks I'd probably look at 46's. They'll still flow big numbers but will be more forgiving with pump gas and your charging ignition. I'd say the same for other brands as well.

    Midshaft/Pump Removal Problem-HELP!!!!!!!!

If this is a SJ you need to pull down on the pump before it will come out. There are two dowels in the wear ring that are keeping it from pulling straight out.

    Smack Talk Starts Now

I don't know anything about that.......... Seriously, Gil's boat is finally running good. It now runs like it should have 5 months ago. It's one of the better running skis I've ridden. Very neutral handling ski. It even sprays people pretty good.......at least when I'm riding...

    cant figure this out!!!

Even if the jetting is a little bit off BlackJack 44's will run fine like that with TL. Since you're running VP 113, you'll be very close because of the oxygen in the fuel. 113 is REALLY powerful fuel. This seems like a dumb question, but I couldn't tell from your original post if you've...

Kennay's 760 powered Squarenose total rebuild

I don't have any problem with it. I even appreciate it(although I'm not sure I really did anything special). You just better be careful thanking the wrong people publicly. I hear that can cause problems.:shhh:

Carbs: What makes a 44MM Blackjack better then a 4MM Mikuni Super BN.

They do as do full spec, novi, riva, etc. They use an annular discharge design rather than the traditional bombsight. They flow a lot of air because of the open design and pull fuel easily because of the low pressure area built into the billet top. I've had good success with them and find...

Kennay's 760 powered Squarenose total rebuild

Boat turned out really nice. Turf was challenging, but Kenneth knows what he's doing. If you ever need turf done Kenneth is the man to see. Best turf I've ever seen. The boat runs good now, but it's gonna rip hard when it's finished being tuned. It hits hard enough that Kenneth had the boat...
