    Total Loss help?

Guys, I'm in the middle of setting up a new digital total loss system in my ski and I'm at the stage where I'm trying to statically time the engine. It goes like this... I found TDC of front cylinder and marked on cases, and for interests sake, checked the rear cylinder, which also...

what am i supossed to do?

If I were to buy any motor that someone else had put together, I would immediately take it apart upon reciept just to make sure things were ok. There were odd/snapped studs in there. This would have been the first reason I would have pulled it aprt to check everything. Also, the fact that it...

    starter rebuild,oem or aftermarket

Thats the thing...when you do buy the cheap ones, you need to pull them apart, and seal them up properly. It's not a hard thing to do. Also, get some loctite onto the bolts that hold them together. We've had 2 running for more than 2 seasons in nothing but salt water, and they take an...

    Superjet - Pop Off pressures

Well if you are getting a lean hesitation and your popoff isn't getting rid of it, you'll have to play with the LS jet and adjuster. Read the Mikuni tuning guide and it will tell you everything you need to know.

    starter rebuild,oem or aftermarket

The cheapest ones on ebay Us are quite good. A couple of guys here are using them with no problems at all. They are a little different to the oem ones as in the brush plates etc are not interchangable, but they work well. Short of that, I'm pretty sure you know where you can get an oem...

    Superjet - Pop Off pressures

A 1.5 N/S is fine. Get a gauge and test the popoff in both as I'll pretty much guarantee that both of them are different, and they don't correspond with the popoff chart from Mikuni. If you are changing out the springs and it's not making any difference, I would look elsewhere. Write down...

    New B-pipe help

Sounds to me like you have too much water going into your pipe. Try the bottom screw 1/8th open and ride and see if that makes any difference. I use the same settings as Paul suggested above, but it's always nice to do the elimination thing to find out where your problem is.

    Blowsion Klowner Footholds

I have a size 11 shoe and find that the footholds I use (very similar to wamiltons ones) are fine. Sire, I can't get my whole foot in there, but I don't need to. When I roll and have to bail, you can slip out of them easy without getting caught up which I like. Alos, becuase I race, it's...

Question about B pipe install and carb setting on 02 SJ

They would be talking about the tamper proof caps on the carb high and low speed adjusters. If it's an 02, you won't have this problem. The only things I can suggest... - put the silicone couplers on the pipe and head pipe so they sptretch a little bit to make them easier to install...

    My water box is clanking.

I ran a waterbox with a broken baffle for years and never had a single problem. I did cut it open a while back, but I probably didn't need to. The centre pipe that connects the two chambers comes loose and clunks around, but that about it. When you cut it open (if you can be bothered) make...

    Waterproof Shur-Stop Switches

I'm just thinking out loud here, but wouldnt you be better off using an xmetal turn plate with straight bars and use the chinpad for protection? It seems that by adding the protection of the bigger crossbar, you are just introducing somthing to crack your skull on! The only reason I say...

    MSD TL acting up!

Steve, I noticed on your site that you have the coils mounted pretty close to the brain. Has this ever been a problem for you, or do you thinkthis might be the problem? I have mine mounted on the pipe side of the rear bulkhead (on the outside of the bolt hole) but I haven't actually run it yet.

Bendix wheel and fly wheel getting stuck

I dug this thread up looking to see if anyone had successfully managed to pull thier bendix apart and put it back together when I noticed the ATF thing. Whataver you do.....DO NOT soak it in ATF. Yes, it does clean good and it's nice and thin, but it's also damn strong and can take of paint...

    MSD Total Loss curve suggestions...

Hey guys, Just thought I'd throw up a pic of my total loss mounted on the plate. It might give you some ideas. I used 5mm acrylic sheet that has all holes drilled and tapped. Once I have the ignition set to how I want it, I'll put some nyloc nuts on the back to hold it on, better, although...

    Superjet - Tubbies

I race, flat water freestyle, and surf ride and I can safely say that any changes that are made by the tubbies can be adjusted to. I love them, and I hate riding a ski without them.

    MSD Total Loss curve suggestions...

Thanks for the replies guys. The reason I asked the question is that I always ran way more advance than everyone else (apart from Wax) seemed to. I figured there was a reason for the low advance (30ish rather than my 38 on the Advent) but apparently not! I'm going to try and run...
